The 2017 US Open of Snowboarding is a huge undertaking each year. There are a ton of deliverables, including the graphics package that I create. Under the guidance of Creative Director, Jay Dacek, I worked with the Burton design crew to create the whole package. I am given the overall creative deck, including all digital and print assets, and am tasked to dissect it to create the motion graphics.
In years past, the entire package was created in After Effects, but with the "Gem Stone" creative for 2017, I pushed to use some elements from Cinema 4D. This allowed me to create more dynamic graphics, using specific lighting and materials to create a unique look.
